Summer of Learning 2011: 90 Days of Metacognition & PD

90daysofsummer

Yesterday was June 1st…so I’m starting this 24 hours late…but I didn’t think of the idea until 11:00 last night…one can’t help when an idea will strike them, right? I’ve been thinking a lot about learning and mapping student learning. I thought it might be interesting to attempt to document my learning over the summer. Originally, I thought I’d watch a Ted Talk a day and write about it, but I’m going to try to do more here…I learn every day from Twitter, Google Reader, books, blogs, people, and places. I learn from my children and experiences around me…so here’s my summer of learning… My essential question? Why should teachers continue to learn and grow as professionals during the summer?
